Chickenhead Control Knob with Extended Pointer
Chickenhead Control Knob with Extended Pointer
This distinctive chickenhead-style control knob features a prominent extended pointer that extends well beyond the circular body, creating an unmistakable silhouette. The knob's body has a smooth, rounded profile with subtle ridged detailing around its circumference that provides enhanced grip and tactile feedback during operation.
The most striking feature is the elongated pointer that projects from the main body, complemented by a distinctive tail section on the opposite side. This dual-ended design not only provides excellent visual indication of position but also offers multiple grip points for precise adjustment. The knob is fitted with a secure grub screw fixing system and accommodates 6.4mm round shafts, making it ideal for guitar amplifiers, audio equipment, and electronic instruments where both functionality and visual appeal are important.

Hole Type

Round Hole
A knob designed for a round shaft has a smooth, cylindrical hole that matches the shaft's shape. This type of hole allows the knob to slide easily onto the shaft, relying on a grub screw / set screw or friction to keep it in place. This design is widely used in audio equipment, consumer electronics, and control panels due to its simplicity and versatility
A knob with a round hole can typically also be used on a D type shaft in the 180° position (where the position indicator is opposite to the flat of the D) and can often also be mouned to splined shafts in low torque applications.
