Small Black Slot Top Control Knobs With Dot Position Indicator

Small Black Slot Top Control Knobs With Dot Position Indicator

A small black control knob with a slot-top and subtle position indicator. These knobs have a short and narrow design and feature a slot in the top that can both aid in position indication and allow it to be turned using a screw driver. This makes them an excellent choice for controls that are not frequently adjusted, in fixed instillations and in hard-to-reach places. They have a straight side with some small ridging for grip and a flat top.

Hole Type

Splined Hole

Knobs designed for splined shafts have holes with multiple grooves or ridges that correspond to the splines on the shaft. This splined hole creates a very tight and secure fit, preventing any movement between the knob and the shaft.

The position indicator can be placed in any of 18 different directions, in increments of 20°

The ridged interior of the hole ensures a strong connection, capable of handling high torque and frequent adjustments without the risk of slippage.

A control knob with a splined hole will not fit onto a round or D typ shaft.

Measuring Rotary Knobs

Body Diameter

The body diameter is measured at the base of the gripping surface and excludes any non-grippable flange or skirt and also excludes any protruding pinters or tails.

This knob has a body diameter of 10.5mm.

Maximum Diameter

The maximum diameter is measured at the widest part of the knob and excludes any non-grippable flange or skirt and also excludes any protruding pinters or tails. The widest round part of the knob.

This knob has a maximum diameter of 10.5mm.

Minimum Shaft Depth

The minimum shaft depth is the minimum amount that the shaft must be inserted into the body of the knob, in order to make suitable contact with the shaft fixing.

This knob has a minimum shaft depth of 5.3mm.

Maximum Shaft Depth

The maximum shaft depth is the maximum amount that the shaft can be inserted into the body of the knob. This is measured from the lowest part of the base of the knob to the bottom of the hole.

This knob has a minimum shaft depth of 7.5mm.

Height

The height of the knob is measured from the lowest part to the highest including any pointers, inserts, skirts or domed end caps.

This knob has a height of 9.9mm.

Clearance

The clearance is the space between the bottom of the knob and the equipment it is mounted to. While this is not a direct specification of the knob it is important to consider this dimension when selecting a control knob.

An appropiate level of clearence between the base of the knob and the surface of the equipment is nessessary to ensure smooth control and to prevent damage. If your equipment has a recessed area around the control knob shaft you will need to consider this in conjunction with the maximum shaft depth and maximum diameter.
