Slim Duckbill Amplifier / Equipment Control Knob

Slim Duckbill Amplifier / Equipment Control Knob

This compact duckbill control knob features a distinctive flattened design with pronounced grip surfaces on either side of the cylindrical body. The knob's most notable characteristic is the heavy metal ring insert that encircles the shaft fixing area, providing both durability and a premium feel. The flattened sides create the signature 'duckbill' profile, offering excellent grip and tactile feedback for precise control.

The knob displays a clean, minimalist aesthetic with a smooth cylindrical cap topped by a subtle position indicator line. The grip surfaces extend from the metal ring to create secure handling points, whilst the compact proportions make it ideal for applications where space is at a premium. This design excels in professional audio equipment, laboratory instruments, and precision electronic devices where accurate positioning and reliable operation are essential.

Hole Type

Round Hole

A knob designed for a round shaft has a smooth, cylindrical hole that matches the shaft's shape. This type of hole allows the knob to slide easily onto the shaft, relying on a grub screw / set screw or friction to keep it in place. This design is widely used in audio equipment, consumer electronics, and control panels due to its simplicity and versatility

A knob with a round hole can typically also be used on a D type shaft in the 180° position (where the position indicator is opposite to the flat of the D) and can often also be mouned to splined shafts in low torque applications.
