Domed Abalone Top Control Knob with Knurled Grip

Domed Abalone Top Control Knob with Knurled Grip

This distinctive control knob features a beautifully domed faux-abalone top that catches and reflects light with an iridescent shimmer. The translucent body showcases vibrant colours whilst maintaining clarity, creating an eye-catching contrast with the lustrous abalone-effect cap.

The circumference is enhanced with fine knurling that provides excellent grip and tactile feedback during adjustment. The knurled texture extends around the entire perimeter, ensuring secure handling from any angle. With its smooth domed profile and absence of position indicators, this knob offers a clean, sophisticated appearance that complements both vintage and modern equipment designs. The combination of translucent colour and abalone detailing makes it particularly well-suited for musical instruments, audio equipment, and custom electronics where both functionality and visual appeal are paramount.

Hole Type

Round Hole

A knob designed for a round shaft has a smooth, cylindrical hole that matches the shaft's shape. This type of hole allows the knob to slide easily onto the shaft, relying on a grub screw / set screw or friction to keep it in place. This design is widely used in audio equipment, consumer electronics, and control panels due to its simplicity and versatility

A knob with a round hole can typically also be used on a D type shaft in the 180° position (where the position indicator is opposite to the flat of the D) and can often also be mouned to splined shafts in low torque applications.
